GingerGinger essential oil is steam distilled from the roots of the plant.  However, the most aromatically superior Ginger Oil is obtained by distilling fresh ginger root. There are numerous health benefits for the essential oil and they are nearly identical to the benefits for Fresh Ginger.   Ginger essential oil is a warming essential oil that works as an antiseptic and kills infections  that are caused by microorganisms and bacteria. Ginger PlantRecipe for homemade toothpaste:                                                                                                                                                  5 Tbsp Calcium powder                                                                                                                                                                                      2 Tbsp Baking Soda
3 Tbsp Xylitol Powder  (powder is not sold. One has to put the xylitol granules into a food processor and mix into powder form)                                                                                                                                                                                                                        1 Tbsp Alohatherapy Neem Seed Oil                                                                                                                                             20 – 30 drops Trace Minerals                                                                                                                                                                         3-5 Tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil to get desired creamy texture
Essential Oils:  Peppermint, Fresh Cinnamon Leaf, Clove, Spearmint, Tea Tree, Fresh Ginger or Ginger

Ginger is indigenous to south China and spread from there to the Spice Islands, West Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and India. Today India remains the largest producer of the plant.

Caution:  Ginger oil may be phototoxic, so avoid applying it on skin areas that will be exposed to the sun within 24 hours after application.    Nursing mothers and pregnant women should  use ginger oil with caution, even though it has been deemed useful for morning sickness.
