Cedarwood Essential Oil is extracted through the process of steam distillation from the wood of the cedarwood tree.

The essential oils of cedar trees find use in a range of fragrance applications such as soap, perfumes, household sprays, floor polishes and insecticides. It can also be used to renew the smell of natural cedar furniture.

Cedarwood essential oil has been shown to possess insecticidal, bactericidal and antifungal properties. It has been in use as a mosquito and insect repellant for a long time.

It can directly be applied to the skin and as an additive to sprays, candles and other products.

Today, cedarwood oil is often used for it’s grounding and calming properties in aromatherapy.

Himalayan cedarwood essential oil has a strong calming, relaxing, and sedating effect.  It can be used in case of extreme stress.

Cedarwood Oil has good fungicidal properties and may be employed to cure fungal infections, both external and internal. Specific studies have shown the inhalation of cedarwood oil can protect the body against plant, animal, and human fungal pathogens!

Cedarwood essential oils are the earliest known essential oils used by humanity for aroma and healing.
The botanical name derives from the Sanskrit term devadaru, which means “wood of the gods”.

Ancient Egyptians would use the oil from cedar trees in the embalming process, which in effect helped to keep the insects from disturbing the body. They also used the oils for making cosmetics and perfumes. It complements masculine blends very well.
